About Me

My husband, Sid, and I both teach history in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Sid was awarded a Fulbright lectureship in Japan for the 2010-2011 academic year and so we are moving to Japan with our two (reluctant) boys. :)

On our way...

I am in the Salt Lake City airport waiting for my flight to Honolulu.  It was NOT easy getting here.  As most of you know, the post office no longer offers sea mail and so we had to carry everything we will need for the year to Atlanta in our Hyundai Sonata along with our two boys (Sam 7, Graham 13), our lizard (destined for Grandma's house in Oklahoma), and every electronic device known to man! Here is how it went:  Sam: "Graham, do you like having a penis?" Graham: "Sam, shut up!  Why do you always have to be that way?!!! Mom, make Sam shut up!" Mom: "Graham, be nice and don't say shut up. Penis isn't a bad word. Sam is little."  Sam: "Nah Nah Nah." SLAP.  Graham loses his phone. Sam gloats. Sam loses his DS. Graham gloats. Mom and Dad sweatily think about throwing both boys out of the car, but the lizard might accidentally fall out, too.

Well, the Hyundai Sonata is a lot smaller than 850 square feet, right? We'll be fine in the apartment in Tokyo, right?

Stay tuned.

Next up.....Hawaii.
